Alright the Hindu Kush auto micro grow is finished and currently in the process of drying and curing. So its time for a new one.
For this micro grow I will be growing the popular strain Wedding Cake. This is not an autoflower grow, but I will be starting the seeds on a 12 on 12 off light schedule so they will flower a little bit after an autoflower would, but still very quickly.
I will be doing somewhat of a mini sea of green in soda cans filled with coco coir and amended with Azomite. I am starting with 8 regular seeds, so unless I get extremely lucky some will be males which will be removed.
For my nutrients I will be using only General Hydroponics Maxibloom for the entire grow. This is called the “Lucas formula” or kiss method by some. I started giving my plants a 1/4 strength dose since day one of their life. This is because I am growing in coco coir which doesn’t contain any nutrients. On day 7 I started giving 1/2 strength nutrients, and they seem to finally be starting to take off. They still look a little pale green, but overall really healthy.
As an experiment I will also not be adjusting the PH of my nutrients or checking the PH for this grow, unless I start to see some issues occurring. I’m really just trying to keep things as simple as possible.
For my lights they are currently under 43 watts of LED bulbs with a color temperature of 5000k. I plan on keeping these bulbs in until after the flowering stretch to try and keep the plants as short as possible. I really don’t want the plants to get over 12 inches tall. Ideally I want them to finish around 10 inch. After the flowering stretch is finished then I will be switching to the 2700k bulbs for the remainder of the plants lives.
I think that pretty much covers everything for this wedding cake micro grow journal introduction. Any questions feel free to ask me in the comments or on Instagram @bobbgrowsweed .
